What is discharge ?
A direct discharge means that the wastewater goes into waters of the state (groundwater, streams, lakes, rivers, etc.) without treatment from a POTW. This includes through a storm sewer system that enters waters of the state (See Separate Sewer System picture on next page), a ditch or other conveyance.
How to Calculate Proportionate Discharge given Area of Cross-Section?
Proportionate Discharge given Area of Cross-Section calculator uses Proportionate Discharge = (Velocity in a Partially Running Sewer*Area of Partially Full Sewers)/(Velocity While Running Full*Area of Running Full Sewers) to calculate the Proportionate Discharge, The Proportionate Discharge given Area of Cross-Section is defined as the ratio of the flow rate in a partially filled pipe to the flow rate when the pipe is fully filled. Proportionate Discharge is denoted by Pq symbol.
How to calculate Proportionate Discharge given Area of Cross-Section using this online calculator? To use this online calculator for Proportionate Discharge given Area of Cross-Section, enter Velocity in a Partially Running Sewer (Vs), Area of Partially Full Sewers (a), Velocity While Running Full (V) & Area of Running Full Sewers (A) and hit the calculate button. Here is how the Proportionate Discharge given Area of Cross-Section calculation can be explained with given input values -> 0.538608 = (4.6*3.8)/(6.01*5.4).
