Percentage Lipid Solution

STEP 0: Pre-Calculation Summary
Formula Used
Percentage Lipid = (Lipid Weight/Sample Weight)*100
%L = (LW/W)*100
This formula uses 3 Variables
Variables Used
Percentage Lipid - Percentage Lipid is the amount of Lipids, which are a broad group of organic compounds which include fats, sterols, fat-soluble vitamins, monoglycerides, diglycerides, phospholipids, and others.
Lipid Weight - (Measured in Kilogram) - Lipid Weight is a body's relative mass or the quantity of matter contained by it.
Sample Weight - (Measured in Kilogram) - Sample Weight is weight of plant material taken.
STEP 1: Convert Input(s) to Base Unit
Lipid Weight: 46 Gram --> 0.046 Kilogram (Check conversion here)
Sample Weight: 150 Gram --> 0.15 Kilogram (Check conversion here)
STEP 2: Evaluate Formula
Substituting Input Values in Formula
%L = (LW/W)*100 --> (0.046/0.15)*100
Evaluating ... ...
%L = 30.6666666666667
STEP 3: Convert Result to Output's Unit
30.6666666666667 --> No Conversion Required
FINAL ANSWER
30.6666666666667 30.66667 <-- Percentage Lipid

What method was implemented for quantitative determination of lipid?

Into a thimble connected to a soxhlet extractor chamber with a preweighed flat bottom was added each dry wood powder (2.50 g) and connected to a condenser. Petroleum ether (100 mL) enough to cause a reflux was added to the flask and the lipid from the wood sample was extracted for 3 hours by heating on an electric hot plate at 50∘C. The extractant (petroleum ether) was distilled off and the lipid recovered by cooling the flask in a dessicator and its value calculated by reweighed flask and content.

How to Calculate Percentage Lipid?

Percentage Lipid calculator uses Percentage Lipid = (Lipid Weight/Sample Weight)*100 to calculate the Percentage Lipid, The Percentage Lipid formula is defined as amount of Lipids, which are a broad group of organic compounds which include fats, waxes, sterols, fat-soluble vitamins (such as vitamins A, D, E and K), monoglycerides, diglycerides, phospholipids, and others. Percentage Lipid is denoted by %L symbol.
