Length of Astronomical Telescope Solution

STEP 0: Pre-Calculation Summary
Formula Used
Length of Telescope = Focal Length of Objective+(Least Distance of Distinct Vision*Focal Length of Eyepiece)/(Least Distance of Distinct Vision+Focal Length of Eyepiece)
Ltelescope = fo+(D*fe)/(D+fe)
This formula uses 4 Variables
Variables Used
Length of Telescope - (Measured in Meter) - The length of Telescope is the distance between the objective lens and the eyepiece.
Focal Length of Objective - (Measured in Meter) - The Focal Length of Objective is the focal length of the lens in front known as the objective lens uses to focus an image.
Least Distance of Distinct Vision - (Measured in Meter) - The Least Distance of Distinct Vision (LDDV) is the closest someone with "normal" vision (20/20 vision) can comfortably look at something.
Focal Length of Eyepiece - (Measured in Meter) - The Focal Length of Eyepiece is the distance from the principal plane of the eyepiece where parallel rays of light converge to a single point.
STEP 1: Convert Input(s) to Base Unit
Focal Length of Objective: 100 Centimeter --> 1 Meter (Check conversion here)
Least Distance of Distinct Vision: 25 Centimeter --> 0.25 Meter (Check conversion here)
Focal Length of Eyepiece: 4 Centimeter --> 0.04 Meter (Check conversion here)
STEP 2: Evaluate Formula
Substituting Input Values in Formula
Ltelescope = fo+(D*fe)/(D+fe) --> 1+(0.25*0.04)/(0.25+0.04)
Evaluating ... ...
Ltelescope = 1.03448275862069
STEP 3: Convert Result to Output's Unit
1.03448275862069 Meter -->103.448275862069 Centimeter (Check conversion here)
FINAL ANSWER
103.448275862069 103.4483 Centimeter <-- Length of Telescope

Explain working of an astronomical telescope.

The rays coming from a distant object fall on the objective as a parallel beam at some angle say "a" and these rays after refraction and passing through the objective converge at its focus and make an inverted & real image AB. This image acts as an object for the eyepiece. The distance of the eyepiece is so adjusted that the image AB lies within the focal length of the eyepiece. The eyepiece forms the final image. The final image is magnified, virtual, and inverted with respect to the object. The final image is formed at infinity.

What are the uses of an astronomical telescope ?

Astronomical Telescope, a device used to form magnified images of distant objects. The telescope is undoubtedly the most important investigative tool in astronomy. It provides a means of collecting and analyzing radiation from celestial objects, even those in the far reaches of the universe.

How to Calculate Length of Astronomical Telescope?

Length of Astronomical Telescope calculator uses Length of Telescope = Focal Length of Objective+(Least Distance of Distinct Vision*Focal Length of Eyepiece)/(Least Distance of Distinct Vision+Focal Length of Eyepiece) to calculate the Length of Telescope, The Length of Astronomical Telescope is the distance between the objective lens and the eyepiece. Length of Telescope is denoted by Ltelescope symbol.

How to calculate Length of Astronomical Telescope using this online calculator? To use this online calculator for Length of Astronomical Telescope, enter Focal Length of Objective (fo), Least Distance of Distinct Vision (D) & Focal Length of Eyepiece (fe) and hit the calculate button. Here is how the Length of Astronomical Telescope calculation can be explained with given input values -> 10344.83 = 1+(0.25*0.04)/(0.25+0.04).

FAQ

What is Length of Astronomical Telescope?
The Length of Astronomical Telescope is the distance between the objective lens and the eyepiece and is represented as Ltelescope = fo+(D*fe)/(D+fe) or Length of Telescope = Focal Length of Objective+(Least Distance of Distinct Vision*Focal Length of Eyepiece)/(Least Distance of Distinct Vision+Focal Length of Eyepiece). The Focal Length of Objective is the focal length of the lens in front known as the objective lens uses to focus an image, The Least Distance of Distinct Vision (LDDV) is the closest someone with "normal" vision (20/20 vision) can comfortably look at something & The Focal Length of Eyepiece is the distance from the principal plane of the eyepiece where parallel rays of light converge to a single point.
How to calculate Length of Astronomical Telescope?
The Length of Astronomical Telescope is the distance between the objective lens and the eyepiece is calculated using Length of Telescope = Focal Length of Objective+(Least Distance of Distinct Vision*Focal Length of Eyepiece)/(Least Distance of Distinct Vision+Focal Length of Eyepiece).
