What is GFR?
Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is a test used to check how well the kidneys are working. Specifically, it estimates how much blood passes through the glomeruli each minute. Glomeruli are the tiny filters in the kidneys that filter waste from the blood. If your GFR number is low, your kidneys are not working as well as they should. In adults, the normal GFR number is more than 90. People with mildly low GFR (between
60 and 89) may not have kidney disease if there is no sign of kidney damage. When GFR is below 60 for more than three months, this is moderate-tosevere chronic kidney disease. A GFR below 15 means kidney failure. If kidney failure occurs, dialysis or a kidney transplant will be needed to survive.
How to Calculate GFR for Male?
GFR for Male calculator uses GFR for male (mL/min) = ((140-Age)/(Serum Creat*100))*(Weight/72) to calculate the GFR for male (mL/min), GFR for Male describes the flow rate of filtered fluid through the kidney. GFR for male (mL/min) is denoted by GFR symbol.
How to calculate GFR for Male using this online calculator? To use this online calculator for GFR for Male, enter Age (A), Serum Creat (Scr) & Weight (W) and hit the calculate button. Here is how the GFR for Male calculation can be explained with given input values -> 91.66667 = ((140-32)/(0.009*100))*(55/72).
